Troop Tribune for August 1st

View this email in your browser (mailchi.mp/98149f535b83/troop-tribune-for-august-1st?e=b768989f06) Meeting this Week We will be back inside this week and will have our troop and patrol elections.
Little Miami Clean Sweep Conservation Service Project We will meet at Rogers Park in South Lebanon at 8:30 am. Address is 60 S. High St., South Lebanon.
I know it was announced to meet at the church but that is incorrect. Plan to be at the park at 8:30. We should be in the water at 9:00.
Parents should plan to pick up at the Carl A. Rahe river access at 1:30 pm. Address is 8006 Old 3C Highway, Maineville.
If you have a registered canoe or kayak and plan to use it, please email me to let me know. We currently have just enough boats if we put 3 in some canoes. If we do this then we don’t have to rent boats and there will be no cost for the event.
If you have your own personal flotation device/life jacket, please bring it. Write your name on it in permanent marker. You should also bring work gloves.
Dress appropriate for the weather. Canoe Trek t-shirts and Class Bs with Troop logo are encouraged. Wear sunscreen and bug repellent. Bring a water bottle and snacks. Plan to be out of the boats in waist high water and on the shoreline to gather debris and garbage. Wear appropriate footwear.
Everyone needs to bring the completed waiver for LMC (mason750.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2eb2678bf15ee22f754de4873&id=24c3c05e2c&e=b768989f06) and should review the float plan and map (mason750.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2eb2678bf15ee22f754de4873&id=ae074f8109&e=b768989f06) .
Information about the LMC can be found at mason750.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2eb2678bf15ee22f754de4873&id=eb014cbe89&e=b768989f06 There’s a short video under the “Volunteer!” tab showing what you can expect from a Clean Up day. There are several posts on their Facebook page of recent Clean Sweep events.
I will do a final confirmation with LMC on August 1 to ensure that weather and river conditions are good for the event.
We will do 4 hours of conservation service. We will have pizza for lunch when we arrive at the take out site.
After lunch, those of us bringing our own boats will need to shuttle to retrieve vehicles from Rogers Park.
