Troop Tribune for 07-06-17

Successful Philmont trip and Summer Camp!

THANK YOU to ALL OF THE SCOUTERS that help make June a very successful month for the Troop.  We could not have had a successful month without the efforts of our adult volunteers.  And thank you to the many Scouts that went on the trips (and to those brave few Scouts that attended both events!!!).  Well done to all.

This Week’s Meeting Theme

This week’s meeting theme is team building events!  Our Philmont crews learned several team building exercises during their treks and would like to share them with the troop!

Next Outing

Yes, it’s time to begin looking towards our July camp out!  This month we will be canoeing/kayaking July 21-23rd.  Campout will be held at Greenacres Canoe and Kyak out of Harrison, OH and cost is $45.  Note:  To kayak or canoe in a single person vessel, you must be registed with the troop with a recent swim test (yes, we warned you!).  If you are not a swimmer and want to attend, you must be in a kayak or canoe with an adult swimmer.  Sign-ups begin this week and end next week.

COURTESY CART DRIVERS – Western & Southern Tennis Tournament

We have been given the opportunity to work together again this summer with the HPC Youth Group in providing courtesy cart drivers for the North and East Handicap Lots during the Western & Southern Tennis Tournament here in Mason, August 12-20th.

Funds will be earned per 3-4 hour shift that will go directly to the Scout Account for the family that covers the shift (settled after the tennis tournament).  Drivers must be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license.

This year signups will be through the website: www.atpparking.org . The signups will be available startingJuly 5th at 10:00 am. Please log in with your email address and the Group Passcode: heritage. You will be directed to a safety video to watch. After watching the video you can sign up for as many shifts as you would like. You will not need to watch the video again. Volunteers who sign up will receive more information at the beginning of August.

If you have any questions, please contract Patty Schnetzer (HPC Youth director) at youth@hpcmason.org or Rhonda Peischl at gpeischl@cinci.rr.com.
