This Week
The theme of the meeting this week will be bike safety.
Church Workday
The church has asked for the troop’s help with a workday on August 18th from 8am to 1pm. Tasks will primarily focus on landscaping and some small indoor repair projects. Lunch will be provided. See Mr. Zumkehr if you have any questions.
Joseph Schuessler’s Eagle Project
August 18th from 8am to 2pm at Joseph’s Legacy in Trenton, Ohio. We will be putting up chicken fencing, making feral cat houses, and making dog leashes. If you need a ride, talk to Joseph Schuessler and he’ll help coordinate a ride for you.
Den Chiefs
Are you interested in helping Cub Scouts on their Scouting adventure? Would you like to help teach them how be Scouts and model living the Scout Oath and Law?  Do you want to give back to the pack that made you the Scout you are today?  Do you need a position of responsibility for rank advancement?  If any Scout, Rank 1st Class and above is interested in being a Den Chief, please contact Mr. Vieux at the troop meeting or by email at tjvieux@gmail.com.
Troop Leadership Training
Leadership training for the fall / winter term will be August 19th from 2pm – 6pm at the church. If you have been elected to a troop position or as patrol leader please be sure to attend. If you can’t make it, please talk to your new SPL, Andy Deel.
Upcoming Troop Outings
August
Activity: Biking
Date: August 11th
Cost: Free (suggest bringing $10 for lunch in Morrow)
For August’s activity we’ll meet at the old Peters Cartridge Factory bike path parking lot at 9am, bike into Morrow for lunch and a couple of hours at Veterans Memorial Park, and then bike back to the factory. There is no cost for this event, but $10 for lunch in Morrow is suggested. We are still looking for a couple of adults who can attend. You do not have to be registered with the troop, but you must complete Youth Protection Training. Sign-up at the weekly meetings or by following the Google Doc link below:

September
Activity: Rock climbing
Date: September 28th – 30th (this is a date change)
Cost: $80

The campout for September will be rock climbing down at Torrent Falls in Red River Gorge. Cost for this campout is $80 payable to Mr. Washington. Note that the dates have changed to Friday, September 28th through Sunday, September 30th. Please sign-up by September 20th if you plan on attending.

Activity: Backpacking
Date: September 7th – 9th
Cost: $10

Starting the fall season of backpacking we’ll be heading to Zaleski State Forest in eastern Ohio. This trip is open to second years and above. Cost for this trip is $10 payable to Mr. Washington. Please sign-up by September 6th if you plan on attending. See Mr. Hayes or Mr. Zumkehr if you have any questions.
Trade Skills Day at Camp Friedlander 
August 25, 9:00 to 4:00
Cost:$30, lunch provided.
There are still open spots for the afternoon session of painting. Scouts should wear jeans and long sleeve shirts, close toed shoes required, boots recommended. Bring a notebook and pen/pencil. Mr. Vieux will be there all day if any scouts are attending and need a ride and to provide adult supervision.

OA Camp Cards
In honor of Camp Friedlander’s year-long 100th Anniversary Celebration, your lodge will be hosting the next C6 Section Conclave at Camp Friedlander in May! Ku-Ni-Eh Lodge is fundraising in advance of the conclave.  All youth and adult Arrowmen are encouraged to assist your O.A. brothers by purchasing a Dan Beard Council Camp Card/s to benefit the lodge.  This is a great way to show your support of the lodge, particularly if you haven’t been able to staff or attend any lodge events recently!
Camp cards are $10 each. They contain discounts or freebies to: Full Throttle (indoor go-cart racing), Dick’s Sporting Goods, Dan Beard Scout Shop, Mike’s Car Wash, Kings Island, Burger King, Papa John’s and more. You can bring $10 cash to this week’s meeting (or use your Scout account) and see Jack Kangas or Mrs. Bouche’ to purchase. If you can’t make this week’s meeting, please contact Mrs. Bouche’ at zkangas@gmail.com to arrange for home delivery.
Tennis Tournament Courtesy Cart Driving Fundraiser
Sign up to have Fun while helping your Scout and the HPC Youth Group by driving a Courtesy Golf Cart at the Western Southern Tennis Tournament, August 11-19th.  We provide Courtesy Cart drivers for the North and Handicapped lots during the Tennis Tournament.  The shifts are 3-4 hours long.
This year signups will be done through Signup genius  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0b49a5a6283-western .  Please make sure to include your name, email address and phone number.  Volunteers who sign up will receive more information at the beginning of August but a couple of important changes for this year include: 1) NO tips can be accepted!, 2) no runs to Lot E and 3) No runs to the Volunteer lot, we are North lot only.

Scouts needing a Board Of Review for Rank Advancements contact should contact our Advancement Chair, Mr. Kevin Owen.   Before scheduling your Board of Review, please request your TroopMaster records from Mrs. Lyons at lyonsacl@outlook.com , or Mr. Matt Goodrich at hoozierjoe@icloud.com,  so that we can confirm all rank advancement requirements have been met.  If you have merit badge award questions, please see Mrs. Jennifer Ponstingle.
