Memorial Day Parade – May 28
Our troop will once again have the honor of carrying the enormous garrison US flag in this year’s Mason Memorial Day Parade. We need 25 or more Scouts to participate. Sign up at this week’s troop meeting.

We will meet on Monday May 28 at 9:30 at the alleyway across from the VFW Hall on Main St.  Road access will be limited, I suggest dropping your Scout at UDF on Tylersville and having him walk up to the meeting area. We will march from there up Main and down Mason-Montgomery to the Community Center. Please make a plan to meet your Scout in the area of the Community Center/School Campus.

Please join us in honoring those that gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Summer Camp June 24-July 1
Summer Camp Medical Forms with a doctor’s signature and a copy of both sides of insurance card, are due to Mrs. Hilbert by the May 31 meeting.  That is in 1 week! Make those doctor appointments today!

COPE, Cowboy Action, Early Release, Diet Request and Scuba forms are due to me by May 31st.  All forms can be found at under Camp Friedlander forms.

A reminder that merit badge schedules were distributed two weeks ago.  I highlighted badges that have pre-requisites. Make sure you review those requirements and start your pre-work. Get blue cards from Mr. Gormly and check the troop website for a list of merit badge counselors.  If you have questions about pre-work or need help connecting with a counselor, come see me.

A list of pre-reqs can also be found at under Camp Friedlander forms.

Swim Test has been rescheduled for June 10 from 2-3 at the Mason Community Center.  There is no cost. This is the last opportunity to get swim checks done before camp. If you cannot make this test, please contact Mr. Vieux to discuss options.

Summer Camp preparation meeting for 1st Time Campers and Parents will be June 7 during the troop meeting. We will cover everything on how to make a Scout’s (and parent’s) first summer camp go smoothly.

Email Mr. Vieux at if you have any questions regarding camp.

Don’t Forget Those Summer Camp T-Shirts!
Summer Camp T-shirts (if you want them for summer camp—not required) need to be purchased following the link below:

Shirts are available in youth and adult sizes.  Shirts are available in DriFit, 50/50 Cotton/Poly blend and with Ladies Cut this year.  Summer camp is typically hot and humid.  We recommend DriFit for comfort at camp.  These shirts can be worn as Class B uniforms for other Scout activities, not just for summer camp, and make a great base layer for outdoor adventures.

DriFit shirts are $17.80.  Ladies V-Necks are $17.61 and 50/50 are $13.65.

The shirts are only available until May 25.  They will be available on June 15.

Patrol Patches
Scouts and Scouters, do you need a Patrol Patch for your uniform?  Mr. Vieux is ordering additional and replacement patches. Email him at if you need one.
