Philmont Crew & Parents
As announced at the troop holiday dinner, we will need to collect a payment of $150 by January 12th to reserve Amtrak transportation to Philmont. This is part of the total estimated cost to attend Philmont of approximately $1,600. Final costs for this trip will be announced later this spring. As always, payments can be made from a scout account or by check made out to Troop 750. To make this payment, please see Mark Washington or Spencer Beeching at the troop meeting. If for any reason you can’t make it to a troop meeting by January 12th, please let Ben Zumker know and we’ll work out another way to collect the payment.
Scout Sunday
More information forthcoming, but mark your calendars now for the first Sunday of February, February 5th. The troop will be providing breakfast to the church, and attend church services (in full class A uniform) and serve as ushers, worship leaders and provide the children’s sermon.
Souper Bowl of Caring
On Super Bowl (and Scout Sunday), February 5th, Heritage Presbyterian Church is joining other churches, schools, and organizations across the country to fight hunger and poverty by collecting soup for food banks. Our collection will go to the Mason Food Pantry. Last year we collected over 500 cans of soup and $1200. The donated soup supplies the Mason Food Pantry for 6 months, and our cash donation purchased $12,000 in groceries through Shared Harvest. Can we top that this year?
It is our prayer that with the help of HP Preschool families and the families of Troop & Pack 750, we will exceed our donations of previous years!
Please consider bringing in cans of soup to donate – there will be a collected bin at the Troop meetings and the Heritage Tweens will be collecting cans on Scout Sunday.
Donate Your Used Shoes on Scout Sunday
Troop 750 and Heritage Presbyterian Church are partnering to participate in Dan Beard Council’s first council-wide Good Turn Project by collecting used shoes. The shoes will then be given to Soles4Soles, a non-profit group dedicated to “Wearing out Poverty” by distributing your old shoes to people in need.
Our Scouts will be accepting your old shoes at our Scout Sunday Services on February 5, 2017 (and Troop mtg on February 2, 2017). Please rubber-band the shoes together or tie the laces together.

Please mark your calendars today – We need everyone to participate!
